Rattle Those “Potters” and Pans

Me, the last time I did something involving a stove.

A COOK I NEVER claim to be,
so I think it’s safe to say
the closest I’ll be getting to

"rattling"
will be at exactly midnight, tonight,
when my daughter, Puppet, and I will be

caldroning
WITH
Harry Potter and
the Half-Blood Prince

!

SOMEHOW, WE LET the reserve ticket situation get away on us, so, this morning, I was scrambling! (No, NOT eggs. Remember? I don’t cook.) But by slipping the ticket cashier an eye of newt and a toe of frog (being able to speak Parseltongue didn’t hurt either Hell AND high water, miraculously, at 8:13 AM, I had secured THE last two tickets for NOT the 12:01 AM showing, NOT the 12:02 AM showing, but, YES! YES! The premiere of premieres: the 12:00 midnight showing of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince! It didn’t come without sacrifice, though. COOK SPEAK: Puppet’s on the back burner (last row, seat #16) and I’m simmering up front (row one, seat eight).

YEAH! THE LAST two tickets! Talk about lucking out! We had three theaters to pick from, two of which had early morning online-indicated that they no longer had tickets available for purchase. So, as the box office clerk at the Sundance (Robert Redford was our only hope. Thanks, Bob!) rang up my two tickets, the SOLD OUT sign on the electronic kiosk-y thing actually started flashing. It was like the GIANT mallet-hitting the pivot board on one of those carnival games and instantly hearing the bell!

SEVEN WORDS:
"Anything on the top shelf, lady."

HEY, I GOTTA run!
It’s almost time to get going
and I have NO idea where my wand is.

We hit the 12:09, but we got 5 seats together. It's a trade-off, I guess...

What did you think of it???

Hey, Peoples! (Wednesday noonish at the public library computer station with a half a dozen finger-drumming toe tappers impatiently waiting in line behind me to use the computer I'm on) After Harry P, Puppet and I re-entered the world via a MAJOR thunder storm. When I got home, I wanted to return to this blog to spill about the Half-Blood, but, apparently, we got hit by lightning (not the first time-- I think we're a preferred hit-me-with-your-best-shot magnet) and our Internet is out till someone can come look at it between 11-1 PM TOMORROW! ("Did you say tomorrow?!?! You've GOT to be insane!!!") That means a technician might show up at one minute to 5. LOL!

They're starting to close in and growl at me now, so I have to get off of here. Hopefully I'll see you Thursday? Thanks!

Oh, I wish I'd started reading those books when they came out! Now I'm just that weird guy that has no idea what people are talking about.

I thought I gave up being that guy!

Hey, Pearl! Harrys make for such good reads-- there's still time, I bet, I bet! (and once you get going, you won't be able to put them down --except to cast spells that cover laundry and meal-making. I don't know about going to the bathroom. I think you have to do that on your own.)

BY THE BY: I'm still coming to you via the public library. My computer remains "aut" (me doing my Heidi Klum-- does that have one "M" or two?). The techs called to say they can't make it until Friday.)

Very jealous. Though, since I decided I needed to re-read the books before I see the movie, it'll be our August date night movie, I think. And then I won't have to worry about "sold out". However, I do have to worry about other folks spoiling it, so keep a lid on anything that might cause a spoiler!
