Now Might Be a Good Time for Everyone to Hum a Little "Daydream Believer"

I JUST LEARNED the very sad news that Davy Jones of the Monkees died this morning in Indiantown, Fla., of a heart attack.

Devasted hardly covers it.

DAVY JONES
30 December 1945 – 29 February 2012

Rest Peacefully, Mr. Jones.

SERIOUSLY. If you're waiting for me to give away a free kitten again, this time, in order to entice you into responding to the untimely death of someone near and dear to my "Hey, Hey, We're the Monkees!" heart, the answer is a BIG negatory. Because, cripes, how tasteless and wrong is that?! Honestly, do you even have to think about it? So, come on already. I know you're reading this. I can see my Stats, for crying out loud! So, even though I shouldn't have to beg, could you please, please kindly pay your respects to Mr. Jones in my Comments? Golly, my heart is breaking right before your very eyes, and all Mr. Jones and I are left with are choosing-to-be-"quiet" drive-bys...Yeah, it hurts. DEEPLY.

Pretty darn sad! It seems like so many people from my "formative" years have left us. Many of them, much too young when they did...

Pat: I loved Davy Jones, maybe even more than Marcia Brady did. Not only have we lost him, but we have lost a symbol, if you will, of a happy part of our youth. An NPR article I read stated something else that is very sad: "...it's taken Jones's death to force us to seriously consider righting what now seems to be an obvious, glaring injustice, but now that it's happened, we need to accept the facts. It's time to induct the Monkees into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame."

Thank you for coming by with condolences and kindness. My sympathies backatcha during this difficult time.
