Over the River and Through the Woods to Momsy Dearest's House We Go

"HAPPINESS IS NOT a circus clown rolling around in a big tractor tire so that his arms and legs form 'spokes.' Happiness is when he stops." --Jack Handey

HAPPY
Jack Handey
FRIDAY?

A snapshot borrowed from the Farkle Family album: whether it be to soothe my infanty, little cries or to put me to sleep at night, Momsy had a peculiar way of "comforting" me...which probably explains a lot.

I'M FREAKING OUT.
Tommorow,
we're going to the circus

my mother's
for a
[late] Christmas.

TWO WORDS:

home movie

Post traumatic "No wire hangers EVER!" sydrome-ly yours,

Rest in peace, my Mollo and ZuZu...and ME, if I don't survive this thing.

More presents?

More like a living hell, Pam, and that's putting it mildly. If Momsy could turn back the hands of time, she would have insisted on stopping at the corner drug store for condoms, on that car-back-seat "adventure" she and "Dad" went on, 57 years ago.
*ouchie-sighs and holds back the tears*

I'd like to be able to say it's going to be a fun Christmas get-together, but to be quite honest, I had to several times talk my mother into letting me and my family come join her and my sister and her family for the holiday celebration. And, since it's still early evening, there's plenty of time yet for her to change her mind again. It's so upside-downsy: we want a family Christmas with them, even though we are not blatantly-truly welcome. I dunno. Is a really bad Christmas better than none at all? It is all so confusing and painful.

After all these years, you'd think I'd be used to the fact that Momsy wishes I'd never been born and that I am not and never will be one of her treasures. (<--Unfortunately, she has a knack of Jopan-Crawfordy reminding me of this all the time.) But what gets my goat and beyond, is how easily this woman continually breaks my daughter Puppet's heart by choosing to treat her like she is invisible. It is so sad and hurtful, yet, she is my daughter's only grandmother, and Puppet remains forever hopeful and reaches out to her.

One thing that will help to get my family and I through this, I guess, is repeating our lucky mantra: "Are we home yet?"

Humour helps, too.

P.S. Thanks, Pam, for letting me do my hot teapot impersonation (<--that is to say, "blow off steam"), I needed that. I feel fortified again. Thank you so very much.

Happy Jack AND "Merry Christmas", RottieGirl! <--because in all likelihood, I won't be anywhere near a computer when you make your always-looked-forward-to Jack Handey stop-by, so again with the holiday greetings: "Happy Ho! Ho! Ho!"

I promise to bring back a GIANT plate (<--I made lots!) for you and Marty to share --and my pupster, Jane, also made a special batch for Chance!

We had huge "feathers" fall from our sky yesterday. I thought of you and wondered if God was "flour"-sifting your neck of the woods as well.

P.S. Have you been overtah TV.com, lately? I just came from there, where all my attempts at contributing trivia to some of the "People" I am editor for, failed. Yeah, the trivia/quoters listings on any of the site's "person" pages are no longer available. I found a mention of the problem on the "Forums" front page (TV.com Technical Support Board: "Trivia link missing from person guides" by meeshluv - Feb 16, 2012 "Just noticed that the Trivia link button is missing from person guide pages, but is still there on the show guides. Is this a temporary thing, maybe due to site maintenance or a bug in the system, or something more permanent?"), but TV.com Mods have yet to respond to it. Man, that poor website never seems to be able to catch it's buggy breath long enough to get a grip on anything. I see such diehards as Mac-Ale (<--Talk about frustrated, as of Jan. 11, 2012, he retired from all of his Editor postions!) Edward_Enigma, etc. have decided to call it quits. Pretty sad indeed. I miss the TV Tome good, ol' days, that's for sure.

Happy Jack Handey Friday, on this spring-like sunny Saturday afternoon. We haven't had our Christmas gathering at my parents yet either, due to the fact my mom finally got out of the hospital.

I've checked out my tv.com page, but the site's gone a bit strange. Especially when signing in. Sometimes, the download page wants you to save something. Very strange.

I hope that you & yours have an enjoyable late Christmas meal. Have a good weekend.

p.s. thanks for the goodies :)

Hi, RottieGirl: Happy Jack Handey Friday and Happy "First Day of Spring (<--maybe?)! Man I hope I didn't just jinx the possible approach of the next season for you by saying that. Sorry if I did; I know how much you'd rather no more flakes to fly. YIKERS! Just in case, for you, I will cross my fingers and think Spring!

I am embarrassed to have to ask my closest internet pal about something I should have remembered (or maybe wasn't aware of, I don't know, but, either way, I apologise for not being there for you): Your mother has been ill? She's going to be okay? Are you okay? From now on until forever never ends, I will have her tucked into my Good Night Prayers. In the meanwhilst, I am so very glad to hear that your mom is out of the hospital. Let me know when your Christmas get-togher is going to be, as I will fire up the oven and bake some more virtual holiday cut-outs for the occasion!

As for TV.com, I think it's having some sort of a nervous breakdown. LOL!

Looks like it's time for this particular "flake" to fly. See you next week with a brand new show? It's a date then!
Luv,
